At Cal Tropic Tours, our mission is to create unforgettable adventures that connect people to the natural beauty, culture, and spirit of Belize. We strive to offer safe, family-friendly, and eco-conscious experiences — from snorkeling the world’s second-largest reef to fishing the deep blue waters — while protecting the environment for future generations.

  • Authenticity – We share real Belizean experiences, stories, and traditions.

  • Sustainability – Protecting the reef, the fish, and the islands is at the heart of what we do.

About Belize

  • Belize enjoys a warm, tropical climate year-round, with an average temperature of 84°F (29°C). Instead of four seasons, Belize experiences two — the wet and the dry — each offering its own unique appeal. Thanks to the country’s consistently mild weather, visitors can enjoy Belize’s natural beauty and outdoor adventures any time of year.

  • The Belize Barrier Reef, stretching over 190 miles along Belize’s coastline, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the Caribbean. Renowned for world-class snorkeling, scuba diving, and deep sea fishing, the reef teems with colorful coral, tropical fish, and prized catches like marlin, mahi-mahi, wahoo, and tuna. Surrounded by idyllic islands and turquoise waters, the Belize Barrier Reef offers endless opportunities for adventure, exploration, and unforgettable marine experiences.

  • Belize’s culture is a vibrant blend of influences from Kriol, Maya, Garifuna, Mestizo, East Indian, Mennonite, Chinese, and Lebanese communities. This rich mix creates a unique and colorful national identity reflected in the country’s music, food, and traditions. Known for their warmth and hospitality, Belizeans make visitors feel right at home. While English is the official language, you’ll often hear lively conversations in Belizean Creole—a local dialect that captures the heart and rhythm of the nation.

  • Belizean cuisine is a flavorful fusion of Latin American and Caribbean influences, featuring hearty staples like rice and beans, stew chicken, and fry jacks. Fresh seafood dishes such as ceviche, panades, and hudut—a traditional coconut fish soup—highlight the country’s coastal roots. Rich flavors from coconut milk, achiote paste (recado), and local produce make Belizean food a delicious reflection of its diverse cultural heritage.

  • Hopkins is a charming coastal village in Belize celebrated for its rich Garifuna culture, stunning natural scenery, and laid-back atmosphere. Known as the cultural heart of the Garifuna people, visitors can experience traditional drumming, dance, and cuisine. Surrounded by beaches, jungle, and reef, Hopkins is the perfect base for snorkeling, fishing, horseback riding, and other outdoor adventures—all while offering an authentic, off-the-beaten-path Belize experience.

  • Belize is a world-class fishing destination, offering incredible variety for anglers of all levels. From chasing the famous “Grand Slam” species—tarpon, bonefish, and permit—in shallow flats and lagoons, to reeling in marlin, sailfish, and mahi-mahi in deep blue waters, the options are endless. With its rich reef systems, coastal estuaries, and the vast Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, Belize promises unforgettable fishing adventures year-round.
